A different kind of two-headed monster?
I was watching SportsCenter recently, and the Seahawks were "On the Clock" as the NFL Draft rapidly approaches. Interestingly, the commentators spent more time talking about how the players will react to the pressures surrounding coach Holmgren's final season than they spent on who the 'Hawks should draft. With only 1 year of coaching in the Seahawks system, coach Holmgren has appointed assistant head coach Jim Mora as his successor a full season before Holmgren is set to retire. How will the players react to having, in effect, 2 head coaches in the locker room for the whole season. There is a similar situation in Indy, but the assistant who is set to take over for Tony Dungy in the future has been with the organization for a number of years, so there is a great trust level there between the coaches and the players. I would love to see the Seahawks get back to the Super Bowl this coming season, a fitting sendoff for a coach like Holmgren. I hope that the present and future don't collide and prevent my 'Hawks from having a great season.
