So the Seahawks are finally addressing their running back situation.

As much as I love Shaun Alexander for what he has done for the Seahawks and Mo Morris for filling in and helping out, I know they are not that effective anymore.

TJ Ducket is more of a fullback than a running back, so look for him to start at fullback instead of Weaver and get some short yardage carries.  Julius Jones has great vision and will probably end up getting about 60% of the carries while in Seattle.

Which leads the focus to Shaun Alexander.  It is obvious that he was injured last year, but I am speculating there is a strong correlation between him finally getting that big pay check and his effort.  He doesn't take hits and looks like he is scared to get hit.  Playing running back in the NFL means you have to get hit.  They should release him or try and trade him because he is still valuable, just not effective enough for the Seahawks.

It has finally happened...Brett Farve is actually retiring.  The most durable quarterback in history will not be strapping up his helmet next fall.

This retirement comes after days of speculation by the Packers organization about an answer that never came until days in to free agency.  He has reportedly told multiple sources that he is retiring.

This retirement has to do with one thing: talent surrounding Farve.  The fact that the packers wouldn't give up a 4th round pick last year to pick up the "washed up" Randy Moss was almost enough to make him retire, and the fact that they didn't spend the big bucks to get him again probably threw him over the edge.

I understand he has some pretty good, young weapons in Green Bay now.  Greg Jennings was a steal in the draft and proves to be a legitimate play maker.  James Jones was also a steal and will continue to get better.  Donald Lee at Tight End can run the seams and get open  better than the ever-so-slow Bubba Franks.  Don't even get me started on the overated Donald Driver.

The Seattle Seahawks offseason has been anything but spectacular.  The signing of Mike Wahle, an old veteran guard recently released by the Panthers, is the highlight of the Hawks offseason.  Wahle is one of Holmgren’s guys from his days in Green Bay so he believes he will get the same out of him in Holmgren’s last year as head coach.

Besides the signing of one guard, the Seahawks have done nothing to ensure the future of the organization.  Valuable starters as well as backups have been ignored and let go.

Clutch kicker Josh Brown has just signed with the NFC West rival St. Louis Rams and versatile linebacker Kevin Bentley has done the same with the Houston Texans.  The Seahawks are now without a kicking game in a time when there are no quality kickers available.
