First Blog - Fire Jim Mora

Hey everybody,

This is my first Entry, so I would like to keep it short and sweet. As you all know, with the loss last night at home against Green Bay the Seahawks are now a dismal 1-4. The schedule isn't getting any easier either. I understand the Hawks have had some bad luck with injuries in the receiving core and the recent knee problems of Matt Hasselbeck. It's vital to have a healthy Hasselbeck if the Seahawks are going to make a push for the playoffs. Even with a healthy quarterback and the return of two important targets in Egram and Branch the Hawks defense is going to need to tighten up and shut a team down.

In this past off-season the Seahawks named Jim Mora Jr. the head coach for the 2009 season, making Mike Holmgren a lame-duck coach this season.  JMJ happens to be the current secondary coach for the Hawks and this is scary. The Hawks defense was presumably going to be a strong point. The defense was going to be one facet of the team that would be reliable on a regular basis. As we have all witnessed in the first 5 games the defense has been nothing short of horrible. We all believed that the defense could pick up the slack of the offensive injuries, but that just hasn't happened. Our corners are getting burned by opposing quarterbacks and receivers non-stop. It seems that some of the defenders skipped their tackling drills in training camp as well. All of this scares me because our future head coach is in charge of this disaster. I know JMJ isn't out there making plays (or not making plays), but it's his job to put the players in a position to succeed. If the Hawks come away with a loss on SNF next week in Tampa then you can kiss this season goodbye.  Anymore than 6 losses and I'm not sure a team can make the playoffs in the NFC.

I'm worried about this year and scared about the next.
