I heard a rumor from a couple different people earlier this week that we're eyeing the Falcons' Alge Crumpler to fill our need for a solid tight end.
This could be a perfect situation for us, given that Mora has had experience coaching Crumpler in his days with the Falcons. He would give our O-line a boost by being able to block the hell out of defenders, while also giving us a prime red zone target for Hasselbeck.
I'm hoping for good news on this front. Crumpler was highly underused this year and suffered in production because of the Falcons' consistently horrible QB rotation. (Does Joey Harrington really even belong in the NFL?!)
Then again this all could be some fanciful rumor from Seahawks conspiracy theorists, but with the free agent market officially OPEN as of today, I say the 'hawks should jump on Crumpler and who knows, maybe even test the waters with Asante Samuel?! Talk about a frightening secondary....
