Mariners at 18-36, look for moves to be coming by the middle of june

The Seattle Mariners once again lost on Memorial Day, and have now fallen to a sickly 18 games under .500.  This is not the start that both management and fans thought they would have this year, and many are growing impatient with how the season has gone.  Many rumors have been flying about different trades, one major scenario involving Jarrod Washburn.  Another trade possibility that I would not be surprised to see in the next couple months if the Mariners struggles continue is that of Erik Bedard.  Erik Bedard was supposed to be a major acquisition in the offseason and has yet to fulfill the hype.  Other big names that may be moved are Adrian Beltre, Richie Sexson and Jose Vidro.  Check for more updates as they become available. 1. No way do the Mariners trade away Bedard...who would they trade for? He was/is THE guy they were wanting. Pitching has been the Ms weak point (as has everything else) and unless they were getting Brandon Webb for Bedard (even then it'd be doubtful) he'll be a Mariner all season.

  2. I agree. I cannot see Bedard getting traded. He will be one  of the building blocks for the inevitable rebuilding project. I also dont think Beltre will be traded. Yes, he needs to be resigned at a lower doller value, but is still relatively young and worth hanging on too.

  3. And I'm not sure anyone would take on Vidro, either--we sure need to move him, but I think he's a millstone we're stuck with.

He had minimal value when he played 2B, but as a light-hitting DH who seems to have lost his plate discipline, he's just filling a hole. An $8.5M hole. Oooof.
